One Hundred Year Old Rocker Restored
by

(IC: homeowner)
Rocking chair from 1898 has been in storage for 20+ years. I decided it needed to be reconditioned and restored!
Before-it's screaming, 'help me!'
I sanded, conditioned and then finished it with Minwax Early America Stain.
So happy with the end result!

Frequently asked questions
Have a question about this project?
Where can I get the caning and supplies to re-cane the seat of this type of chair?
What did you use to recondition the cane? We have a very similar rocker with the caning intact, but I'm sure it could use something to keep it supple. (I won't let anyone sit on it because I'm afraid the caning will split.)
You “conditioned” the wood. HOW?
