DIY Bleached Driftwood Tea Light Candle Holder
I’ve been spending a great deal of time walking each morning. I found these pieces of wood on one of my walks. Look for fallen branches that have been laying around for years they are perfect for my driftwood candle holder.
Step 1 Cleaning the wood.
Start by cleaning the wood with bleach overnight. This will eliminate any bugs and create a beautiful pale wood. Use 2 cups of bleach in a pail with water filled to the top. Cover the wood completely with water. Let soak overnight. Rinse and let the wood dry in the sun.
Step 2. Drilling the hole.
For this project you will need a drill and a drill bit that is the size of 1 1/2. Normally you need to purchase this separately. My drill did not contain one. Place the drill on the center of the driftwood. Hold it firmly with your foot and drill until you have a hole thats 1/2 inch high.
Step 3: Adding the tea lights
When your holes are made. You are ready to place your candles inside or tea lights inside the holes. These driftwood candle holders are safe to be used inside. They are bug free. I love my bleached driftwood candle holder. I tested my driftwood candleholder outside on the table and it worked beautifully.
