Seaglass and Dark Wax Dresser
by

At this point, I have painted a few dressers. Sometimes a paint a few in one day. But when a dear friend asks you to paint one of her family heirlooms, that can be a game changer. Just moving the dresser made me break out into hives!
I get this pretty little thing in the barn and I stalk it...I circle it..I prayed over it.
(Well, maybe the prayer was a little selfish - this one was all about me) We had agreed on a general look but the exact finish, which all finishers know can't be totally planned out, was all on me.
GAME ON.

GAME ON.
Before.
Layer of Coastal Colors Summer's Fog, then a layer of Seaglass, light distressing.
Add Fiddes & Sons dark wax for texturing.
Put back the original but polished hardware.
Buff wax to a dreamy finish.
Finished product! See blog for more finishing details!

Mcgypsy9 on Aug 24, 2014This came out just gorgeous! I love when someone has the guts to have something done to an old and I should say, beautiful piece! Yes I loved the piece in it's original state but I must say you did a fabulous job of refinishing it. It is a true seaside treasure! Love love love that color!
