Update Kitchen & Bathroom Storage - Pull Out Heavy Duty Wire Baskets
It dawned on me, after we had signed the contract for our home that we have no pantry or linen closets. Also part of our kitchen cabinets were missing shelves!
Crud!
I had planned to use the upper and lower cabinets to the right of our oven as a pantry. Brilliant idea until I realized the lower cabinet had no middle shelf (and the exact place where I was planning on storing can goods). I needed something to help me organize. Yes I could do just some baskets and pull out what I needed. But I knew there was a better solution
This ended up to our benefit because I was able to put in an easy fix that has been life changing – Rev A Shelf!
These are heavy duty baskets which slides out. Imagine not having to dig to the back of the cabinet to see what cans you have back there!
Installation was super easy! There is a giant U section for the front and the back which stabilizes everything. You screw in the slides. Then you screw down into the bottom of your cabinet. When sliding the baskets in and out, regardless if they're empty or full, its a smooth action. I've literally doubled the the storage space than if I had just used baskets alone.
I do recommend using a cordless screwdriver. That made it go in easier! If you're having a tough time with the screws into your cabinets, pre-drill a small hole.
As we were moving in, I installed these right away so I could have immediate pantry space.
After living in our home for 6 months with just the standard size of basket storage, I realized they also had a cool unit for pots and pans! Its a double deck pull out. The bottom spacers are adjustable so you can customize the areas in between (that is why you see space for my roaster and bake-ware.
Similar to my lower kitchen pantry before baskets - this storage area didn't have a middle shelf. I went 6 months of my pots and pans all hanging out disorganized and taking up a lot of room. This unit condensed just about everything into 1 unit.
The top has 3 adjustable levels for height of your cabinets. I had initially set it on the middle level, but ended pulling it out and resetting to the top level so my pots would have more room. Installation was again, super duper easy peasy. The difference was this has supports, on the back side, which I pushed out to the wall and screwed in. Its super sturdy and I love how organized it is now!
