Repurposed Doll Carriage Wheel Flowers
Don't throw away those cute wheels from doll or baby carriages. They can easily be repurposed into cool flowers for your gardens.
These three wheels are from a doll carriage that I rescued from the dump a few years ago.
Here it is before I turned it into a planter. You can find that post here.
A few weeks ago I found it overturned in the garden. One of the wheels was broken so I decided to give the three good wheels a new life.
I removed the rubber tires so I was just left with the plastic rims. The tires will be repurposed some time in the future.
These wheels will be getting some quick and easy spray paint love.
I wanted to add a little color to the center of the wheels so I spray painted the bolt heads the same colors as the wheels.
To put my flowers together I used some stuff from my thrifted stashes; metal skewers and a bolt and a twisty nut.
The tightened twisty nut keeps the skewer snugly in place, and makes it easy to take the flower apart if necessary.
The skewers then simply fit into the pipe stems, which are some leftover pieces of a deck swing that I spray painted green.
And here are my three repurposed wheel flowers in the garden.
I decided to mix the bolt head colors in the centers of the flowers to tie all three flowers together, but that's just a personal choice.
Spray paint makes this such a quick and easy project that anyone can do. Project time of 2 hours includes drying time for spray paint.

Wanda Rodgers on Nov 12, 2019What a great idea! Did you use the carriage for anything?

Thanks Wanda! The carriage went into recycling because it was damaged from being overturned, but the rubber tires will be repurposed at some point.

I just love the wooden arched piece with metal and a wreath in the middle.
I have looked everywhere to find one like it. Do you mind telling me where you got it. It is beautiful. Thank you. Laura
