2 Ingredient Grout Cleaner
What if I told you the best homemade grout cleaner isn’t baking soda, hydrogen peroxide and dish soap? I know, shocking right? That’s the recipe almost all the bloggers on the internet seem to recommend. I tested out as many homemade grout cleaner recipes I could find and used ingredients from my pantry to create the ultimate tile and grout cleaner.
We’ve all got dirty grout somewhere in our homes. Whether it’s in the kitchen, bathroom or some other random room in the house, grout can be a big pain in the booty to clean.
There is one area in particular that gets badly stained. We keep the coffee maker and espresso machine between the oven and sink. All the spilled coffee gets into the grout lines and it’s hard to clean.
Make a 50:50 mix of vinegar and dish soap and scrub the grout lines using an old tooth brush or scrub brush. Let it sit for a few minutes to absorb the stains. Once the grout is clean wipe it off and rinse with counter with a little water. Keep in mind you do not want to do this method with marble tile as you cannot use anything acid on marble.
After the grout has been cleaned. Keep in mind that the grout was never pure white but light grey color.
If you want to reseal the grout and freshen up the grout lines even more after they are clean you can use a grout pen to "paint" a thin layer of sealer on top of the dried grout.
After the paint from the grout pen dried. The tile and grout is once again looking fresh and clean.
