Hello! Have you considered buying one on Craigslist or other second hand venues?
Thats where I purchased mine in 2000. Near the university there were more than 6 to chose from. I expect that its cheaper to buy than make, the tilting mechanism alone could be very costly, far more than a second hand desk pricing. Something to think about.

you can buy them on sale through Hobby Lobby and Michaels
Well drafting tables and desks are two different pieces of furniture. Drafting tables are usually expensive. You could try estate sales. It would be much easier to buy a desk and I would do that rather than try to make one. Although when our daughter was in middle school, we made her a desk by using a hollow core door, placing a cleat on the wall to its left and using a small filing cabinet to support the other end.

I purchased one that my husband loves. It was reasonable and even came with a stool. He is a draftsman and uses it. I found it on Amazon for less than two hundred dollars with the stool. I also saw them on Wayfair.

I have that exact one. Got it at an art school sale. I've seen them at antique malls and such. You can almost come up with your own plans from your photo for the design is very simple. It's the tilting hardware I think would be the hardest to come up with. Good luck. I love mine.
I’m not sure where you’re located, but I have an antique one that needs a new home that will love & enjoy it.
I wanted to find a similar drafting desk for my son, but they turned out to be very expensive. Then we found a desk like Mogie's; it cost only $180. But I would like to build my own desk and get him away from the online services and the computer a bit, as he spends too much time on various services online. Recently, we needed to prepare a presentation about our city for his class. I wanted to use old newspapers and print photos, as well as create a collage. But then I found out that he had already used https://edubirdie.com/powerpoint-presentations-writing-service for this, and all he will take to school is a flash drive. I want to teach him to appreciate tangible things, handmade items, and maybe such a beautiful vintage table would be a great solution for that. If you've found any plans, please let me know.

I would try to buy one secondhand if possible! As a retired Architect myself, most architects use the modern ones now!
Thank you all for your replies. I'm still looking for plans. I'm going to check out the plans in the links above. Thank you thank you! God bless!
