We love using wire art in our home decor. It's unusual and once the wire art bug bites there are so many things you can make. Like this really cute "love" arrow.
It would make a lovely gift for someone special (like you ) and it fits into any decor style, from farmhouse to boho.
Plus you get to recycle an empty soda can and it only takes 30 minutes to put together.
To make the "love" arrow you'll need:
- Hand Saw and Drill
- Feathers
- Burlap Twine
- 1 x dowel stick 3/8” x 8” (1 cm x 20 cm)
- Jewelry wire
- Empty soda can
Use the dowel stick to figure out how big your letters should be and write the word "love" on a piece of paper. The height of the letters should be at least three and a half times the width of your dowel stick. Cut a piece of jewelry wire and use the love letters as a template to bend the wire to form the word.
Make sure to leave a piece of wire at the beginning of the "L" and the end of the "E".
When you’re happy with your "love" letters, use a hand saw to cut the dowel stick into two pieces:
- 1 x 3 1/8” (8 cm)
- 1 x 4 3/8” (11 cm)
And use the hand saw to make a groove on the other end of the shorter dowel stick.
Cut an empty soda can open with a pair of scissor and once again use the dowel sticks as a guide to cut an arrow head.
Insert the arrowhead into the groove and insert the wire "love" letters into the holes you drilled earlier. Glue two feathers on the back of the arrow.......
..... and that's it. Your "love" arrow is all done. We glued ours onto a piece of wood and added some twine around the ends just for fun The arrow has been hung with two free printables that you can download here (just scroll down towards the end of the page to find the link).
You can replace the word “love” with “hope” or “peace” or any other word that means something special to you.

Have a question about this project?
What gauge wire did you use? This is a really cute idea but the wire you used looks heavier than most jewelry wire that I've seen . Thanks.
