Hi Winston,
What type of tub...fiberglass, iron...do you have a picture you can share so you can get some applicable advice?
Hello Winston! What material is your older tub made from? Different materials would require different solutions! We'd be happy to help if you can give us some more information!
Older tub but what material is it?
It probably needs to be re glazed. I've never done it so I'm unsure if you can DIY.
If it is a cast iron tub Rustoleum makes a tub refinisher.
If it's porcelain, it can be refinished.

Hi Winston. I watch a lot of Home and Garden on TV. There's a show called Rehab Addict which is flipping very old houses. I have seen bath tubs that has been awful. They always say have the old tubs re-glazed professionally. They make it a point to say don't try to re-glaze yourself. And that it's not worth it in the long run. They send their tubs out and when they come back, they look like new. Winston, I'm not saying it's what you should do, I'm just sharing information. Good luck Winston. Stay well and healthy.
They sell repair kits at hardware stores for tubs and showers.
