See if you can add a piece of plywood beneath the cushions. Many times there is not much support below them.
Yes a piece of plywood will work for sure. I had to do just that with an old sofa, and it worked great.
Agreed on the piece of plywood idea! If you can't remove the cushions try flipping the couch over and have a look at the under side of it. A lot of times you can access/add support from the underside.

How To Fix a Saggy Sofa
Stuff the cushions with filling from pillows and add extra support under the cushions.
Try stuffing the seat pads using urethane foam , which is generally more dense. Wrap it with batting and more foam padding, if needed.
I would put new filler
one easy fix is to just put a piece of plywood under the cushion for extra support and you won't sink down in as far.
I agree that adding a piece of plywood underneath the cushions would help. My husband did that for a saggy futon couch that he had during his bachelor days. You could also try adding filly, batting or foam to the cushions.
It sounds like the elastic is broken under the seat try turning over the couch to see the cotton of the cushion .
You can slip a piece of wood underneath the cushion to prop it back up.
Can yu show some pictures
Sometimes you can get away with just adding a wooden board below the cushion.
