You can make this any size you choose. It could be for 2 bottles or 10 bottles just adjust the wood used to cover the extra size.

You could make a long, narrow box from pallet wood.
Hello. Very often thrift stores can have metal baskets are perfect for this storage situation for a few dollars. They also can be spray-painted your preferred color choice.
You can make a simple one from an old crate. https://youtu.be/Sd1xj_QumR4
You can find a narrow basket to hold several bottles.
Since you kitchen is short on counter space, I would suggest that you try to use more of the wall space for storage of such items:

possibly re-purpose a shower caddy???
Yes, the item in the 4th picture above is sold as a shower caddy. The taller styles that have a tension pole in the centre could also be used in the corner of two walls in a kitchen. Examples below.
You can use a basket or a galvanized box. How many bottles are you looking to wrangle? You could do a double decker lazy susan.
Here is a really easy way: http://www.thegreenestdollar.com/2009/07/5-cool-ways-to-reuse-your-six-pack/
That’s easy save your cans from vegetables peel the labels off you need 6 screw them together from the top screw down through both cans on a angle get something to use for a handle you could use a broken belt old handle chain or none paint them decorate them add name labels if you like .
I've use metal plant holders from the dollar tree in a couple of my clients kitchens... https://www.dollartree.com/search/go?w=plant%20trays I have also used many of their wire or plastic organizers in long thin design for kitchen and bathroom.
My Husband used a 2 x 4 and put a 2 x 4 end on each end.....like a long U shape. Then he used wooden paint sticks and nailed them to the front and back to make a long basket type holder. I use it for spices, but it could be used for small cooking oil bottles as well. I stained with the dark brown shoe polish and love how it looks on my counter.
