How to Cover a Lamp With Rope
I had a thrifted lamp that I first tried to grow crystals on and then tried to cover with sand. Both were big DIY fails. So, I decided to cover the whole thing with rope - which was much more of a DIY win. Here's how I did it!

Here's the lamp before. I told you it was bad! I wiped it as clean as possible but this was actually glued on there :)
Start your rope with a bit of hot glue and then stick that on the lamp.
Start right above your plug in the lamp if you want the end of the rope to be in the back. Then slowly wind up the lamp, adding glue to the lamp instead of the rope for best results.
Go inch by inch adding glue to the rope and winding it around the lamp. It is a slow process. Take your time - you don't want to go crooked.
Trim your rope when you get to the end. We used a lighter to melt the nylon rope so it wouldn't unravel. Use fire at your own risk.
Enjoy your newly coastal inspired lamp!
I added this shade. It was from Target back in 2013 or so when I did this project, so probably hard to find now.
