Put a piece of ripe banana in a bowl and cover it with plastic wrap. Poke holes for the fruit flies to get in
Hi, Linda,
They are generally attracted to fruit sitting out in your kitchen, or to remnants in your garbage disposal. Try placing a half lemon and several ice cubes into the disposal, grind for 30 seconds, continue flushing water another 25 seconds. Check the underside of the disposal rubber gasket and wipe it clean.
Put your fruit in the refrigerator or under a secured glass dome, etc., until fruit flies are gone. Scrub your countertops with soapy water and a lemon scented dish detergent. Scrub cutting boards, if necessary. Check dishwasher crevices, that crevice beside your stove, etc., where fruit particles may be hiding. Scrub out refrigerator shelves.

Snare Those Awful Fruit Flies!
Hi Linda. The fruit flies are attracted to a rotted food source, usually some sort of produce. Put any kind of rotted produce in a bowl and cover it with plastic wrap. Poke holes in the plastic wrap. The fruit flies go in thru those holes and can't get back out. Throw away any other produce that is rotten. Remove the source and the fruit flies vanish. Good luck Linda.
