How can i change the color of interior door hinges?
My new (to me) house has interior doors with shiny gold hardware. I plan to replace the doorknobs, but don't really want the hassle of replacing the hinges. Any suggestions to make them blend more with doors, which are white, as are door frames?

You can paint over with white. I would scuff and clean first so the paint will adhere better.
Hi Cindy. I'm Cindy too. You can spray paint the hinges but you will have to take the doors off of them first. If you find that they were painted by prior home owners, soak them in water in a cock pot set on low overnight. Then use an old toothbrush to remove any remaining paint. Spray paint is used best in very light coats. Allow each coat to dry before adding the next one. When everything is completely dry, you can hang your doors back up. Good luck Cindy.
You can definitely paint them to match, just be sure to clean them well for good paint adhesion.
Spray paint them.

How I Spray Paint hardware
How to Update Hardware With Spray Paint
I usually remove hinges and other hardware if I want to paint them. I soak them in hot soapy water and then clean them up with steel wool. Sometimes I give them a final scrub with a soft brush like a tooth brush. Rinse and let dry completely. I like my hinges to match my other hardware.. You have many metallic options in spray paint. I prefer Rustoleum. I paint a side at a time. It's easiest if you elevate them on a cardboard box, using floral wire, chenille stems , golf tees, basically whatever you have, so you can spray paint the edge cleanly. White Rustoleum paint would also work. Do very light coats so the paint is smooth and doesn't sag or run. I like to finish mine with a light clear sealer. Good luck and stay safe!
Hi Cindy, painting them would be the quickest and easiest option. Just make sure to clean and prep them really well so the paint doesn't come off after a while. Most door knobs have a clear protective coat on them that helps keep them looking shiny and new. I would use lacquer thinner and a brass brush to both degrease and remove the clear coat first.
I would tape around them and spray paint them the colour that you
want.
Hi Cindy, I agree with the other home talkers....take the door off the hinges. Take the hinges off and spray paint! This is the best way to do it. Make sure you sand or scuff the hinges first before you spray paint. Rustoleum is the best spray paint for metal!
Take the door hinges off and spray paint.

Spray paint might be an option. I have masked and sprayed my faulty finish worn oil rubbed bronze door knob.
You can mask them off with painters tape and spray paint them.
Hello,
Paint them! Use an Artist brush and a little paint!
You could get a shiny silver paint and paint them but white looks nice with gold
