Simple Coat Hanger/Towel Rack
This is a super simple build with the perfect amount of style and doesn’t break the bank! Now I need to build myself five more!
This build doesn’t require much. In fact I made two of these. One with just a stained piece of Birch Plywood and these black hooks I ordered from Amazon. These hooks are amazing and you get 10 of them for $11. Cut your plywood to your desired size and then sand and stain your plywood first. Keep following below for a second option!
For my second coat hook I actually cut my plywood piece to 24.5” x 8” and then sanded and painted all sides with white chalk paint. Then you simply measure for spacing and screw in your hooks with the provided wood screws. Mine were approximately 5.5” apart from each other but slightly closer to the end on either side.
For this coat hook I also wanted a frame. I cut and sanded some 1x2. Two pieces at 23 5/8” and two at 9.5” to make a frame. I am choosing to assemble using a butt joint but you could also mitre your corners. Next I stained the frame pieces with my go to Minwax Early American.
I used some wood glue and a nail gun to attach my frame and that’s it! Another simple, one hour project that can be used anywhere in your house! Towel rack, coat hook or even for blankets in the living room!
