How do I seal barn wood?
I am putting old aged bar wood in my bathroom of course not in the shower but ceiling and other walls. What can I use to seal it that won’t change the color of the aged wood?

Water based polyurethane should do the trick
Hi Bill, hope this helps you get your wood sealed in your bathroom. But that's pretty easy using 2-3 coats of water-based polyurethane. Sealing it will do a good job of protecting it from rot. Swelling and contracting may also be an issue, but if you leave a small gap between boards and use flexible silicone caulking around edges where sinks or tubs may connect you'll be fine.Jan 12, 2015

Water based poly or marine poly should do the trick. Although I have some rough wood in my bathroom (walls & ceiling but tile in shower surround) that I did nothing with. No change in color and that was around 1987.
Make sure you choose a matte sealant - glossy would look weird on barn wood
Hi,
I would go for a Clear Spar or Marine Varnish!

Use crystal clear matte finish poly. Regular poly will change the color. Marine varnish costs more but is good for wet/damp areas.
