Easy DIY Yarn Wall Art
A year ago we stumbled across this branch while walking on the beach and I was determined to make something out of it. So, today, a year later, I'm sharing what I did! Lol!
I grabbed four balls of yarn from Michaels. You can use any colors you like. I also used some jute string and my branch from the beach. You can just grab a branch from a tree outside, or take a walk through a forest and look for one!
I started by making my tassels. I wanted my tassels to be kind of large, so I used my arm, and wrapped the yarn across my hand and down and around my elbow. Keep doing this, about 50 times.
Once you're done, you'll grab the top, in the center, and cut the bottom in half. Then cut the strand that was attached to your ball of yarn and use that strand to come up near the top and wrap it around all of your yarn. You are basically making the head of your tassel. Then tie it with another strand so it doesn't come undone.
Once your done making all of your tassels, you'll cut a piece of jute string and tie it through the center of the head of your tassel. Before you tie it to your branch, decide what shape you want your finished hanging to look like. For me, I chose to do a "V" shape. I started my tassel in the center so I tied it to the center of the branch. This is my longest tassel of my "V" shape.
I alternated colors as I tied them on to the branch.
Once you're done, use the jute string to create a hanger for your art, and then hang it on the wall. How cute would something like this be for a backdrop at a baby or bridal shower... even for something like the Super Bowl where you could use your team colors!
