Have you tried Brasso? It should do the trick. :)
You can use good ole vinegar and baking soda! Pour the vinegar on first and then sprinkle the baking soda. It may take a couple times of repeating depending on how tarnished they are, you may even want to soak them in vinegar and then sprinkle with baking soda!

Boil them in a pot with some vinegar. Let stand for about 30 minutes. This only works if the brass is not coated. If it is coated, use brasso.

Hi Nina. I recommend making a paste to clean your brass handles. Dissolve 1 teaspoon of salt into a half-cup of vinegar, and add flour until it forms a paste. Put the paste on your brass and let it sit for about 10 minutes. Then rinse with warm water and buff dry. Good luck Nina.
