How do I Re upholster my dining Room chairs??
My girlfriend told me what fabric and plastic to buy to cover each chair.
My non-verbal, D.Syndrome, beautiful Granddaughter unfortunately, is still in diapers, that's why I need to reupholster & NEED the plastic lol!!!
Anyways, I have everything!!
My girlfriend ended getting a full-time job along with her part-time job she can't get here to show me how to do this.
Do you guys have any video on how to reupholster a dining chair? I am a visual learner, I need step by step, forward, rewind type of person lol.
I need help.
Can any of you awesome creative ladies help me?
Thanks,
Rhonda

Hi Rhonda! It really depends on the type of chairs that you're looking to reupholster. In my experience most dining room chairs that have fabric covered seats are pretty easy to do. Most of them you can simply remove the seat (generally via screws in the bottom or sides) and then staple your fabric right over top of the old fabric. I don't have a video link for you but I think it's wonderful that you have this attitude about the task and the reason for it. There is a really good product, Camp Dry, you might consider to help waterproof your material. In my opinion, it's much better than scotchguard. Just in case the plastic tears or some other mishap, it may save your new material.
Thank you! I appreciate your input on "Camp Dry" Definitely going to get that!!! I can use that on my couch an many other places like the "CarSeat!!!"
BEAUTIFUL, Kathy!!!!
Thanks again!!!
Rhonda

You could also buy some heavy duty clear vinyl to upholster over your fabric to simply water-proof it for now.. https://www.amazon.com/Plastex-Fabrics-Gauge-Clear-Vinyl/dp/B00OZ4ORCY/ref=sr_1_22?dchild=1&keywords=upholstery+clear+vinyl+protection+by+the+yard&qid=1607561898&sr=8-22
Or buy some pre-made ones.... https://www.amazon.com/Homemaxs-Protector-Waterproof-Dining-Removable/dp/B06X3VRKS4/ref=sr_1_36?dchild=1&keywords=upholstery+clear+vinyl&qid=1607561717&sr=8-36
or buy some of new great vinyl fabrics .... https://www.fabric.com/find?searchText=vinyl+upholstry+fabric I love the gator or ostrich patterns. Tip if you have a curved corner, use a hair dryer to smooth it around the edge, and then staple.
