Rustic Wood Look Metal Door
You don't say if it's an interior or exterior door and it might be easier to give a faux wood look. I would be worried about how the wood will stand up to time. Here's a link for you:

Is it interior or exterior? Would painting it to resemble wood work for you?
Hi Elsa, adding real wood to your metal door may make it really heavy. Perhaps you can investigate wall paper. You get some beautiful ones on Amazon https://www.amazon.com/s?k=wall+paper+wood&ref=nb_sb_noss_2
It would depend if you are just going for the look or you want actual wood. You can achieve the wood look with paint or a panel. In order to cover it with wood, attach panels with an exterior adhesive like Power Grab. However, you will not be able to put it on the side that close to the casing all over so I would think it would look odd. You might be better off to scour around for a wooden door replacement.
I've seen people use a wood patterned contact or adhesive paper on a metal door and it looked great. Might be hard to do on a paneled door though.

To add wood, pick something like cedar slats, you can find a glue that will hold the wood onto the metal, make sure it allows clearance for opening and closing

My old house has a wood clad metal door, darn thing is so heavy you can barely open it, and it constantly pulls the hinges loose due to the weight. I would faux paint it..... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=liQuCa1pyWA
Loctite construction adhesive is great stuff. Stick immediately but leaves plenty of time to adjust.
Would be easier to give your metal door a wood like looking finish.
