How to Set Up a Simple Hot Cocoa Bar
The weather outside is frightful, y’all. We’ve had five snow days in a row. F-I-V-E. Fourteen and a half glorious inches of the white stuff. What goes well with snow? Hot cocoa, of course!
Our cocoa bar has been a fixture this week, and was easy to put together. We grabbed all the hot chocolate things from the pantry and set up a make-your-own-cocoa station. This would be great for a kids winter party, family gatherings or a post sledding neighborhood treat.
Throw in some Peppermint Schnapps and you’ve got the adult version of this cocoa bar. Because it’s been a long week, y’all.
- Get a tiered metal stand, a tray, a basket or even designate a small piece of furniture for your cocoa bar. Use what you have and be creative!
- Grab festive holiday mugs & napkins.
- Make sure you have plenty of cocoa mix, or mix up your own and put it in a jar.
- Marshmallows are a must!
- Have whipped cream in the fridge.
- Display your peppermint sticks in a cute cup, or have a shaker of crushed peppermint.
- Cinnamon sticks are fun too, if you want to to display in a cup, or have a cinnamon shaker.
- Don't forget the colorful paper (or metal) straws/stir sticks for mixing!
Make your hot cocoa and cuddle up by the fire with holiday movies or a board game.
It also makes a festive, cozy decoration for the kitchen. I added a whitewashed pallet wood platform to place the tiered stand, napkins and candles on.
Happy holidays, friends!
