Watch how I turn a non functional old desk into a nice home bar using a pallet to add a classic wood look.
It all started out just as an old, worn desk, but wont be, not for long!
The first thing I did was I took it apart. Now I can think about how the bar will look. Next step, the pallets!
I went ahead and I disassembled the pallets.
Then I turned the desk into the position I need it, in this case the bottom of the desk was going to be the base of the bar.
Then, using the pallet wood, I built a frame to have a straight front.
Then I screwed the thin wood tables to the desk.
I then screwed the thick wood tables as frames. Made the counter top using thinner wood and with the same size wood created the frame around it. Prior stain.
I started to add color to the wood using wood stain.
It is looking good...
I added decoration, getting there!
I then applied varnish for the final touch and protection.
And there you have it! A beautiful new bar! All it took was an old desk and some pallet wood!
