Hi Elaine, do you have the instruction book to your sewing machine? It would likely provide you instructions. If not, locate the brand and model of you sewing machine and enter it intoo a google search, you may be able to download the instruction manual and then search for your bobbin threader instructions within the manual. Also, if you have a JoAnn's nearby, go to the sewing machine section and ask for advice. Often there are very knowledgeable people who have a wealth of experience in sewing machines and the intracacies of a bobbin threader. Hope this helps, but each machine is aslightly different but yet basically the same.
Hi Elaine, The bobbin usually goes under the little metal plate under the needle. The fill the bobbin, you usually place it on the thread post on top of the machine and load it. Each machine is different so you may want to refer to the manual or google the specific machine you have. If you can find the manual online for the specific machine you have it will tell you how to thread it (or how to fix it if it's broken)

Check online for the make and model of your machine and then you can probably find customer support
Hi Elaine. On my machine there is an arm on the bobbin. It must be in the bobbin hook to work properly. All machines are different. You could also get a step-by-step tutorial on You Tube. Just enter the make and model number for a tutorial. Good luck Elaine. Happy Holidays.
The bobbin must be seated correctly and be free of debris. You might consider watching YouTubes of-your specific make and model for review and troubleshooting.
Mine always messes up when the tensions is too loose. My machine is old and vibrates and this seems to cause the tension to changes and the bobbins to mess up and tangle.
Please give us a bit more info, Make of machine? A couple pics would be great
One of the most common issues is dust and thread in the area. Make sure you are cleaning regularly. I use canned air to blow out the area every couple of hours sewing.
here is a video on how to fix

I would look at your manual or try to find a manual online. There are also sewing stores that will service sewing machines or help you with certain things on them if you need help.
Hi Elaine,
You referred to the area of the problem as the 'bobbin threader'. Would this be the bobbin winder?, likely at the top of the machine, that winds the thread from the spool on to the bobbin.(first picture below)
What is wrong with it, or how is it not functioning correctly?
Some folks who have tried to address your question understood that you are asking about the bobbin case. Is your machine a front loading style (second picture below) or a drop in style? ( third picture below).
Hi! It depends on what is wrong with it and what type of machine you have. Check the website for the company that made your machine. Many have specific trouble shooting guides. If it's too complicated, there should be a local repair shop that handles your brand. If it's still under warranty, ask the company who to take it to. Stay safe!
Hello Elaine,
I would refer to the instruction booklet for your machine, as all are different.
Whenever I have a bobbin issue, I always read my manual, there are usually troubleshooting guides in the back.
