These are great substitutes for candles. What you have is a small ceramic pot with a plate of a dish on top, plug it in, turn it on and it heats up the wax tarts from a metal heating plate at the base of the pot.
When done using it, turn it off and the wax cools, put the plate of the warmer into the freezer and in a couple of minutes the wax will slide right off the plate. Easy clean up.
The top, where the wax tart sits, should be removable. After it has cooled, freezing it will allow the wax to pop out.
Hi! I warm mine up just enough to loosen the wax, remove it, and then wipe it clean with a paper towel. If the part that holds the wax is removable, let it cool and then wash it in hot soapy water. Stay safe!
Hi Lorraine. Begin by unplugging your tart warmer. Then, while the wax is still warm, put 2 or 3 cotton balls in it. The cotton balls will soak up the melted wax. Use a pair of tongs to remove the cotton balls and put them on paper towels. Then use a new cotton ball to wipe clean.

Hi there,
Soak up what you can with Kitchen Paper Roll then wipe over with a Wet Wipe. Best wishes.
I empty mine when it is cool enough to touch but not warm enough to burn. Then take a plastic scraper when it's completely cool to remove residue that is left. I find it oddly satisfying.
If you are wanting dispose the last bit of wax, heat your warmer so the wax is liquid and then pour it out into an old milk carton or other disposable object. Then wipe the very last bit of the wax away with a paper towel.
what I do is heat the warmer and let it get hot enough to melt anything left in it then I let it cool and scrub it out with a soft scrubber and a tiny bit of dawn detergent to cut the greasy feel of it
