OUT THE PALLET WOOD TO ENSURE SIMILAR THICKNESS.Line up your pallets to find like widths and thicknesses and stack them together.
In this case the width doesn’t matter because you will need to cut them to custom widths anyway, but you DO want to make sure the thickness is the same!
Here is my favorite tool! My Ryobi Brad Nailer!
I might sleep with this cutie at night if I didn’t risk driving a nail through my arm.
It is fabulous.

Very nice. I’m doing some planning for a future home. This will help. By the way, I have the same work surface as you do, lol.

So you added to an existing hood? Wish I could have done that but we had the basic builder small cab with microwave that vented back into the room which drove me nuts! So we took out the duo and relocated to another area. My husband built the new hood and was trimmed out with beadboard and also wood I stained then added copper nails for more wow factor!
Do you find it a problem to clean ? My old vent hood used to get so dusty/greasy but it was painted metal and cleaned easily with degreaser, but that wouldn’t work on raw wood, right?
