Is it removable? If so, removee and clean it well with soapywater and a scrub brush, let dry, then spray it with heat/fire-resistant paint. If you need to paint it in place, do the same but be sure to mask off all thesurrounding areas very well. It is difficult to contain paint spray!
You will need high-temperature stove paint. Here's a link:

I agree removing it would be the easiest way to paint as I believe most high heat paints only come as spray paint. However, they might make a brush on kind, I would check online with a google search!
Hi! I would take it outside, clean it really well, and then spray it with a high temperature paint. It's what I have always done with rusty grills and fire pits. I believe the one we've used is by Rustoleum. Do light coats and let dry in between. Good luck!

Agree with previous answers. Take outside. Clean well. Use a spray on heat resistant paint.
Hello. After a good cleaning and the screen is dry. Spray paint would be an excellent option. There are specific heat rated spray paint that could be used on grills and screens like yours.

Ir the wire cover attached to the brick? If so there should be bolts holding it on. Remove it and take it to a heating store or perhaps get one custom made
Not sure if this is what you mean https://blog.homedepot.com/how-to-paint-your-fireplace/
You would have to get a high temp rated spray paint. Rustoleum has some high heat options: https://amzn.to/3aTL9Tp
A high temp spray paint
I would use a paint with a high temp rating. A specialty paint store should be able to help you.
