Spray Painted Shower Door
I just wrapped up a $100 bathroom refresh in our master. We are planning a larger remodel in a few years but wanted to make the space a little easier on the eyes in the meantime. I set myself a strict budget and that meant getting creative and using supplies already on hand.
My biggest obstacle in this dated bathroom was ALL the GOLD!! I wanted to update our shower door without spending money on something we know we will be replacing quite soon. In comes the spray paint!
Step 1: I first very lightly sanded the whole door.
Step 2: Clean very well. I used a multipurpose cleaner and then wiped everything down with rubbing alcohol as well.
Step 3: Tape very carefully
Step 4: Next I used tape with plastic wrap already attached to cover literally everything from overspray. All the glass, walls, ceiling and floor were carefully covered.
Step 5: I used a paint and primer combined spray paint in flat black and sprayed 2 very light coats.
Step 6: Next up I sprayed 2 coats of flat protective enamel. I made sure to wait at least 4 hours between coats.
Step 7: I removed all the plastic first. Then scored along all the tape with a razor blade and pulled all the tape.
Step 8: I waited a solid 3 days to use this shower- to allow time for the paint to cure.
Step 9: Remove overspray with rubbing alcohol and a razor blade!
