You could use a large planter pot for the hose and then cover it with clay pot saucer.

Up-cycling is a great way to save money when working on your garden. Repurposing old tires will give you something durable and customizable – it can be eye-catching or industrial.

Are you wanting a lid so that the hose can not be seen, or so that water doesn't pool in the pot after it rains?
Get a large planter pot and use it. Make a lid out of decorative wood
Here is a nice post with different varietions, some of them very dumb, but the last 4 I really like

You could get an old galvanized tub or a lobster pot to keep the hose in and then add a wooden round top to it. Paint it or stencil it or stain it and stencil it in a garden motif!
We picked up an old ceramic planter at a garage sale. Brought it home and brushed it down well with a metal brush. Then painted it with liquid flex seal to water proof it. So far so good.
So many helpful ideas. Thank you, Hometalkers! You are so kind and helpful!
Everyone's ideas are great except keeping it out of the sun means keeping it out of heat. Metal containers and tires would absorb heat. The plastic flower pots would not absorb heat as quickly or as well, particularly white or light colors. You could also try finding a footstool at a garage sale or Goodwill Store. It already has a lid on it. I got a nice one for $1 and used it for an older terrier to get up onto the couch. He knew exactly what to do with it and used it a long time. Make sure the hose is drained; line the footstool with a good grade plastic bag. After storing the hose, put the lid down and enjoy a well deserved sit.
So many cute ideas, but one of my favorites it grab a large planter pot and keep the hose coiled up inside of it. If the pot is cute, painted or mosaic, even better!
Maybe you can happen onto a large plant pot at a garage sale that has a drain hole in the bottom. Just place the hose inside and create a lid from a large piece of styrofoam from an appliance box and glue a handle on it with E600 or make a round hole in the lid so you can reach in with a couple of fingers and remove the lid from the pot.
Try a Garden Centre or buy a Plastic Bucket with Lid.
I finally bit the bullet and purchased a large steel one from Amazon.
