From Dated and Boring to Fresh and New - a Furniture Refinishing

After being inspired here on Hometalk with all the furniture upcycles using chalk paint, I finally took the plunge myself. We have 3 china cabinets our den, all given to us when they didn't work in others homes. I use them to display art. We recently covered our ceiling with recycled barn tin, making the room darker so I needed to so something to brighten the area.
A very nice cabinet, but somewhat dated with the finish and dark in the room.
I sanded and taped the piece to prevent paint getting on the glass. I learned you really don't have to sand when using Americana Decor Chalky Paint.
I found that it took 3 coats to give the coverage I wanted on the piece
Left side shows piece antiqued with the wax.
Doesn't this look so much better than the original finish? The piece now looks current instead of dated.
