DIY Mid Century Bench

My friend and I tackled making a mid century bench for her boyfriend's dining room.
We followed a blog that told us to pinch and staple the foam to the plywood which I had never done before....Has anyone done this with success? We found it yielded a bumpy finish... I don't recommend this method. Check out my full post: http://alifedesigned.blogspot.ca/2012/09/diy-mid-century-bench.html

Very nice Nancy. I'd never heard of stapling the foam to the wood before. That makes no sense at all. You must have remade it because it looks perfect!

Nancy, this looks great. Definitely wouldn't have guessed it was a DIY job.

Thanks Becky! I agree... I should have gone with my instincts and done it the way I thought was right. We didn't re make although I really want to! Thanks Steve! I forgot to mention, these pictures were taken before my friend's boyfriend stained the legs the same colour as the dining chairs!

Well it looks smooth to me. You must have done a great job of hiding it.

Great job. I love the combination of the bench with the chairs at the dining table.
