How To Age a Basket

I recently upgraded a French market basket to make it look older and realized you can follow the same steps to age any basket.
The first step that I took was to apply some French grey chalk paint using a sponge brush.
Before that step, the basket looked like this. It was just too new looking.
To add some more personality, I made a little sign for the side using some gingham from my fabric bin. The word marche means either walk/stroll or shop in French. Both words are fitting.
This is a close-up of the final product.
