These pistachio flowers are cute and easy to make. They're the perfect addition to any shabby chic or rustic decor. Glue them on a cute sign or just use them as a gift topper to make a great last minute gift for Mother's Day.
All you need to make these are pistachio shells, a glue gun and small 1 - 2 inch circles cut out of old cardboard boxes. You might choose to paint them as well if you don't like the natural color of the pistachios.
Before you start this project wash your pistachio shells and let them dry to remove any salt or residue.
You'll need a circle cut from recycled cardboard to glue the shells onto to hold their shape. Once you get the shape started they go really fast. Glue two shells facing each other into the middle of the cardboard circle and then build the flower from there. The flowers look best if you try to use odd numbers of pistachio petals on each circle going around the middle.
These are great for older kids to make with a low temperature glue gun or would be a great project for a craft night with friends. The best part is that no one will guess you made them with pistachio nut shells!
