Vanity Bench to Industrial Side Table

Last summer a friend gave me a bench from a vanity that had seen better days. It was wobbly and when I inspected the underside, I discovered that it had been "repaired" with hot glue. The faux leather cushion cover added to the "appeal" (ha!) of this piece. It sat in the corner of my basement until I was inspired to transform it into a table with an industrial look.
A neighbor left a few pallets in the trash, perfect for creating a new top for this table. The only downside was that the boards weren't perfect but for this project, that ended up being a plus.

This is the bench "before". You can see holes where repairs had been made over the years.
I cut the boards to be able to show off the holes in the pallet wood. My accessories always have a story and this little metal scoop is particularly precious to me since it was my grandfather's.

Sandra Staton on Jan 22, 2016I love it! I don't like perfect . . . takes away from the rustic charm. Great job!
