Make Your Own Lunchbox Out of a Milk Jug

We love to repurpose things that would normally be thrown away. Milk jugs are so versatile when you think about it. So much plastic, and can be made into so many fun things if you let your imagination wander. Here is one thing we made.
During the Summer we are always on the go. I like to find new things to create with my kids that are useful to us when we are off on an adventure.
We have made watering "cans" and pots for plants out of milk jugs....this time it would be a snack/lunchbox! I cut across on the front and then as far up as I could go in the back to create a lid, bent the sides down after I cut it so it would close nicely.
I used some ribbon to close it and some velcro pieces that already had adhesive on them to make it easier on us. The kids absolutely loved this diy project and it came in useful as we went to the beach and park too! Great repurposing activity.

This would be a cute idea for a class to make before a field trip - Teacher could cut then each kid could decorate with stickers (Dollar Tree is a great place to get a variety of stickers) put their name on it and each kid then has their own snack box for a field trip. Two holes and yarn makes a handle!
