Storage and Organizing Make up and Essentials in a Small Bathroom

We have the smallest master bathroom that we have ever had. We remodeled it several years ago but that remodeling took a large vanity and put in a smaller one. I’ve been struggling to keep my mess in some type of organization. I’m one of those annoying people who hates to put things that I use on the daily away in drawers. I like to have everything out where I can see it on surfaces. It’s a curse really. 😂 But I’m too old to change and honestly most of the time, I don’t care.

Before shot of bathroom

Yep, this is how I currently operate. It’s a hot mess for sure. I belong to a makeup subscription and I get samples every month which adds to the mess. I love my makeup samples and it is the only thing that keeps me from losing my mind when my daughter goes through and steals my makeup. Any other mothers go to look for their favorite products and find them missing. Whenever I complain, she smiles and says sweetly, “Remember, you’re the one that always wanted a girl!” icon

Wide mouth flat mason jars

I found these cute flat wide mouth mason jars that would work well for storing and organizing makeup samples.

Gorilla Glued the lids

I used Gorilla Glue to change the kids from two pieces to one piece. I had to let dry for a couple hours but then they were solid.

Sharpie Labels

I used a Sharpie to label the tops.

Donate unused makeup

As I sorted, some went into the trash and some were put in a box to donate. I am hoping to find somewhere I can donate the unused items and some slightly used items. Some were just the wrong color and never opened.

Jar Organization

It worked well for the sample sizes.

Silicone brush holder

This is my favorite organizer for storing eye pencils, brow pencils, make up brushes, and tweezers. It can stick to your mirror if you like that too.

Palette Storage

I had this acrylic organizer and had no idea that my palettes fit in this compartment for so perfectly. I had the stacked on a shelf before and they would tip over occasionally.

Napkin Holder Palette Organizer

I had one really large palette and it worked well to slide it into a napkin holder.

Spayway Glass Cleaner

This is my favorite glass cleaner. I love the foam application.

Lazy Susan for hair products

I used two lazy Susans. One for hair products and one for tanning products and moisturizers. Having all the products in one place makes getting ready so much easier. And those lazy Susans are fun to spin.

Everything at the ready!

Everything is out and ready to use just like I like it. I have an extra soap dish that works also as a jewelry drop zone.

Can I ask where you got that 4 drawer unit? It’s awesome and looks great for storing all my makeup!

Your an ipsy fan to? Lol you should see my make up desk. Lmao it is a hotter mess then your bathroom. Either way I like what you did. Did you get this months ipsy. Loving the turquoise bags. I get all three bags. To really jazz up your Mason jars if you want, it is what I did to mine. I spray painted them sea foam I think the color is krylon sea glass. It's pretty and kne jar is painted pink with regular old paint mixed with some baking soda to give it that chalk paint finish. Then u baked it in the oven at 200 for 30 min. I love all my make up out to. I have 2 Mason jars with make up brushes. My youngest daughter stole my 100.00 set of make up brushes. As you can ingaine my anger at that. Lots of fouls words came out of my mouth. I bought them when I was in Cosmo class. Any way ended up buying a 50.00 set. Now with ipsy the last 2 months I have gotten 2 more full sets of the brushes and a few singles. Any way the make up you haven used or slightly used you can donate to cosmo schools for the skin care part of the class, or a votech that is kn your district. I have a few highlighter that I'm giving to my cousin. The make up bags that I qont be using will go as holiday gifts or bday gifts. Now that I upped my subscription I get 3 bags a month lol.you bathroom looks great now. And I hear ya on the I dont really care what my desk looks like. It's what my mom called my make up desk or vanity when I was growing up an organizer mess. Lol.

My aunt comes often to stay with me to visit and revive from hectic life, grandkids etc.

    I get makeup subscriptions monthly.

We call it her spa time.

I put items I don't use in her bathroom and fix them nice in a bag etc for her to use and take home.

SHE LOVES THIS AND LOOKS FORWARD TO IT.
