Persian Blue Vanity

This vanity came out of a basement in McKees Rocks,PA. It had seen better days and had probably been in this basement or at least 20 years. I love finding pieces like this that can be brought back to life as something fresh and useful again. This Beautiful Vanity is painted with General Finishes Persian Blue and White glaze to give it a cottage style look. Finished with Miss Mustard Seed furniture wax.
I painted 2 coats of GF Persian Blue.
When the paint was dry I did a light distressing all of the piece and then applied the GF white glaze. Paint on nice even coat of white glaze with a brush or sponge brush. Then, wipe off with an old t-shirt. Work in a small area at a time because you don't have a lot of time to wipe off. If you don't like the effect you can you a damp washcloth to wipe off and try again.
The glaze really gets into the all of the details and shows them off so nicely.
This label is in one of the drawers. Good old Made in the U.S.A.!!! Grand Rapids, Michigan to be exact!! That is one of the best reasons to redo old furniture. You get to use something that has been made in this very wonderful country of ours!!!
Sorry for the messy view of my dining room! It is my sons craft/lego room!!!
