An Old Dresser Given New Life

Saving this dresser from a trip to the dump made for an interesting project.
This is a step by step of how I gave this old lost dresser new life.
Someone I know found this in an abandoned storage unit, he was going to haul it to the dump until he thought I might be able to do something with it.
Taking it apart was harder than I thought it would be. This piece was built so solid I had to cut off ends.
I had to fix the drawer runners.
The drawers and pulls were a style I had never seen before so I wanted to save them.
Such an interesting design.
Fortunately they polished up fairly well.
The feet unscrewed and were in really good shape.
They cleaned up as well as the pulls.
I thought I could use the top for the bench.
But I couldn't find any wood to match to cover the side and top.
So I cut that piece to cover the top and side and used a sander to round the edges a bit.
I used another board for the seat and added a cushion to it.
It's a perfect entry!

Had you given any thought to adding another type of support piece under the other end of the seat? Just a thought. It is a perfect entry.
