Morganton Dresser Makeover

2 Materials
This vintage Morganton dresser was a steal of a deal that I picked up at my local Goodwill. Priced at just $50, I couldn't pass up this beautiful piece of furniture. This is how it looked when I found it.
It was really pretty as is (look away now if you don't like painted furniture!), but I decided to give it an update to better fit my decor.
I lightly sanded the entire piece, vacuumed and cleaned it, and then primed it with a good adhesion primer. I then sprayed two coats of Benjamin Moore Advance paint in "Cumulus Cloud." The color is a soft, versatile and warm gray. This paint is quite durable on its own, but for added protection, I sprayed a couple of coats of topcoat on the top.
The brass hardware was quite tarnished and dirty, so I shined it up with Brasso. It looks so pretty now against the warm gray paint.

Wow you hit a home run with this fab piece in this condition at GOODWILL !!! of all places...love love the light cream gray in contrast to the brass hardware...if you were to sell this in an antique mall, it would be at least 500 dollars!!!
