I found this sweet six drawer dresser at a local thrift store. It felt a little dated, but I knew with a little paint it could make a dramatic transformation.

Here’s the before

I had no idea what direction I was going to go. I encourage you not to overthink it and sometimes the piece will speak to you and you get a vision once you start.

Once I started painting in this beautiful blue Wise Owl chalk synthesis paint called Abyss I liked the way the wood looked and decided to leave it like that for now.

I found this stencil on Amazon (linked in my Amazon shop) that comes in a variety pack. I used a greige paint for the stencil color inside the drawer inserts.

I then went back over the blue around the rest of the piece.

I sprayed the hardware in a metallic gold and used Wise Owl salve over both the wood and the paint to protect and refresh.

Here is the final look with a little imagination and some fun.

I encourage you to find pieces and bring them back to life.

Your dresser is so pretty! But what is a “greige” paint? Is that a typo?

Looks like the top has been sanded, is this correct?
