Take an old glider rocking chair and give it a new facelift by recovering the cushions and giving the furniture a little updated color change.
I love the way that this piece of furniture now has a timeless classic look to it!
The cushions have a beautiful ornate damask print, and the chair was painted a lacquer black.
Painting. I always paint everything I possible can at one time. Less cleanup later ;)
The before. It was pretty nasty! I forgot to take a picture of the cushions before I got them recovered.
Oak color....love it or hate it, it is gone

Cost of chair $12

Cost of recovering (whatever your fabric costs)

Cost of paint $35 but I had a ton left over too

I have a glider rocker that is about 30 yrs. old. It is very sentimental and I want to keep it around when the day comes that I have grand babies. Can you tell me how you prepped your wood for painting? Did you spray paint it? Sand? Clean? I am very interested in this project.

Also, what steps did you take to recover the cushion?
