Stairway Gate Made From A Child's Crib!!

My neighbors put their child's crib out for the garbage and it gave me a great idea. For years we've been using those ugly gates to keep curious toddlers and pets off the stairs.
Go into your basement, attic or your neighbors garbage and drag out your crib.
Take the crib apart. You are only going to use the side rails.
Remove any hardware.
Place the side rail on the stairs where you would like to gate positioned and mark where you need to make your cuts. Using a saw, simply cut the top and bottom of the rail.

My rail is not fastened but you could fasten it to the wall using an eye hook. It's a simple as that and it looks like a high end piece of furniture.
Suggested materials:
  • Baby crib
  • Saw

This idea is FANTASTIC. I have a kitchen with two double wide doorways. When it's raining and my back yard is mud I'd like to stop dogs on the kitchen floor tile before they rocket through the house . The crib sides are big enough and look decent. Thank you~
