My bed is a bit tall (more storage underneath), so I needed tall bedside tables. I decided to create my own! I had to measure how high I would need the table to be.
I found the right size crate at walmart.com
I found the right size crate at walmart.com
Wooden blocks from Caft Warehouse made it the perfect height for the door I created out of a wooden piece I found 50% off
This was the wooden piece I found on sale. Nice door, right??
Next, a shelf from scrap plywood, glued to some 1/4 round I had laying around.
Then the paint! Thanks, Walmart! I love that color :)
Then attaching the doors and top board with hinges, very small nails, and wood glue.
Had to add reinforcement behind the handle, since the boards are very thin. And a magnetic catch for keeping it closed.
The top board was a little bit long, so I cut it and glued it to the back to make it look finished.
Finished product! I love how they look
All done! They came out really nice!! Hope you enjoyed, feel free to give it a try!

I've been looking for something for our bedside that would also work for the CPAP machine my hubby uses! This is cuter than the ones I have seen with a hole cut into the side of the cabinet. Coils the gap in the side slats be widened slightly without compromising the stability of the whole thing?
