If you use a yoga mat, this DIY spray is great to keep on hand.

It is also great for weights, bands, or anything else you use to exercise with at home. I carry my yoga mat with me to exercise classes too, and always spray it down after a class.

And if you have a home gym or area in your home you exercise in, you can keep this spray in that area to use after working out!

Be sure to stay tuned after the recipe to learn about disinfecting as well.

Ingredients:

  • 10 drops tea tree oil
  • 20 drops rose water concentrate oil
  • 1/4 tsp baking soda (optional)
  • Witch hazel toner (enough to fill about 1/2 of spray bottle)
  • Distilled water
  • Small spray bottle ( I am using 2 oz glass bottle)

Directions:

  1. In your small spray bottle, fill it up halfway with the rose witch hazel toner (see diagram below).
  2. Add in the tea tree oil and rose water oil.
  3. If using baking soda, add this in now with a funnel if you want to make sure it all goes in. Baking soda will combat odor even further, but CAN leave a residue, so I don't always use this. Read blog post for more details.
  4. Fill the rest of the bottle up with a little distilled water.

Tip: If you can't find rosewater concentrate oil (we have it linked in blog post) you can substitute a nice smelling essential oil. This ingredient is just for scent! Tea tree oil has no substitute for this recipe, it is the key ingredient and antimicrobial.

You can also use other types of witch hazel toner! I also love coconut scented for this combination.

To Use:

  1. Shake spray bottle well.
  2. Spray yoga mat or workout equipment down.
  3. Wipe off with a microfiber cloth or towel.
