Don't you hate the annoying itch of a bug bite for days? Ugh! I have always hated it, but then I discovered how to make my bug bite sticks. They are fun to make and super simple. The best part is, they work better than anything I've ever tried. They are made with natural ingredients, not chemicals! I make my own bug spray too. Click here to find the printable recipes for bug bite sticks and bug spray and make your summer more bearable!
The first thing you need to do to make your bug bite sticks is combine olive oil and coconut oil in your crockpot.
Add dried Plantain leaf, dried Lavender flowers, dried Echinacea leaf, and dried Echinacea root and cook on low for 2-3 days.
Note: You must watch it carefully to make sure it doesn't get too hot, this varies depending on your crock pot. You can turn it off at night or when you are away from home, and then start back up again when you can watch it.
Next strain the oil to remove all the herbs and add lanolin and beeswax.
Them pour your mixture into empty chap stick tubes. You can buy them and all of the other required supplies on amazon here. afflnk
Once the mixture has cooled, you can put on the lids and label with a marker.
Check out the blog for exact amounts of ingredients and more homemade ideas.
