Necessity IS the Mother of Invention

This may not be the prettiest of things you have ever seen but it is useful. The first time I saw one made by my beloved 76 year old aunt, I thought, what is that?! She laughed and said you'll get more use out of it than you think. Of course, she was right!
I started with a with a four inch block of four by one (sanded lightly), a couple of kebabs, some acrylic paint and a couple of end bolts. All of these I had around the house so zero cost. I cut off the pointed ends of the kebabs. Then I drilled holes in the wood block and used E6000 to glue them into the block standing upright.
The one my aunt made for me years ago was painted so cute with flowers and polka dots. I was heart broken when it was broken accidentally in a move, so I tried to reproduce the look today and proved once again that I did not inherit her artistic genes. I had to spray paint the end bolts as the acrylic paint wouldn't stick to the metal and when that was dry, I used E6000 to glue them on the top of the kebabs.
So this is what my strange little contraption looks like finished. Can you guess what it it's used for? I know a few hometalk people who will be making these soon.
They hold your gloves while they dry out. I have paint on my hands from another project because these were still wet from yesterday. I started to work on the Halloween decorations and stopped myself short. I had put this off too long. It took maybe an hour or so do from start to finish and I will use it every day. The first one I had ,had little blocks at the top of the dowels. You can use those or knobs or whatever you want that won't poke holes in the gloves.
Suggested materials:

Adorable idea. The paint is joyful and the structure is plain cute. Do you have a photo of the bottom of the block of wood? I would like to see the bolts. Best wishes 😇

I wish I could take the credit but that honor goes to my aunt /godmother. I hope her idea is as much of an inspiration to you as she is to me.
