Upcycled DIY Ribbon Organizer

Have a bunch of ribbon that needs organizing? This upcycled ribbon dispenser can help keep your ribbon from getting tangled.

It's also incredibly easy to make and very inexpensive! So, grab a few supplies and upcycle an old tin can into a convenient way to organize ribbon in your wrapping station!

This ribbon dispenser works best for thin ribbon. The decoration of the can is limited only by your artistic skill.

My art skills are limited so I went the easy route with stickers but permanent markers are a great choice too.

Larger cans work best for this project since the ribbon needs room to move inside the can.

Wash your tin can well, then let dry and use a metal file to smooth out the inside of the lid if needed.

You will need to drill holes in the tin can with a power drill. While a nail can be used if no drill is available, it leaves a much rougher hole and the ribbon will not move as smoothly.

Once the holes are added, spray paint the can and add any decorative elements you want.

Then, just thread the ribbon through and you are done!

Filing down the sharp edges on the inside of the cut holes with a fine gauge rat-tail rasp would reduce the possibility of the sides of the ribbons catching a fraying as they are pulled out of the inside.

I would like to try this. How many rolls of ribbon can be put in a large pumpkin can?
