Faux candles are a great alternative to the real thing. But shouldn’t they look beautiful when they aren’t on? I think so! Here’s my idea!

This candle had some of that natural wax dripping. If yours does not, just create it!

Grab your candle, your metallic paint or metallic patina and a Artist brush!

I’m all about some shimmer! I use used Pennies from Heaven liquid copper patina from Debi’s Design Diary. DIY Paint. I picked the copper metallic because I thought it would compliment the brown tones of the candle more.

Now just follow the details of the wax drip. I focused mainly on the raised areas. In this specific candle, the wax drip look was all around.

Get a good amount of the metallic paint/patina on your brush. But not so much where it’s dripping off your brush.

This creates just enough detail to make it pretty! And just enough shimmer to make it shine! So when you’re not using the candle it will still glisten and really update your decor.

Even when it’s lit, it adds some more sparkle. Just that small amount of metallic really sets this off!
