Before you send off your donation bag, reach inside and grab the red and white t-shirts! This project is easy, uses recycled t-shirts and a scrap of wood... That's it!
I began with a scrap of wood and a red and white t-shirt. I painted one side of the wood scrap white then used a stain medium to give it an antiqued look. Next I stenciled on a star using a stencil from the craft store.
I cut both a red and a white t-shirt into strips then stretched each strip until it curled. T-shirt fabric stretches to almost twice it's original length. There is no fraying with t-shirt fabric so it is perfect for this project!
I tied knots at the end of each strip then attached them in red and white order to the back of the scrap wood using a staple gun.
This was a simple project that took no time. It is constructed completely of recycled materials and It looks amazing hanging on the front door!
