Simple Halloween Recycled Ghost in the Graveyard

From scraps around the garage and inexpensive props from the dollar store, these not so scary ghosts can haunt your mantle.
Old wooden door molding .
I had some scrap door molding laying around the garage from replacing a door. You could use dog-eared pickets as well. The molding was already white but a little rough. I cut into 8-10" pieces, then angle cut on one end.
Spray with white.
I went over the molding with some white spray paint. Be sure to get the point as that has been freshly cut and has no paint.
I hit the molding with sandpaper around the edges and lightly sanded the tops to distress the ghosts slightly. As you can see, I did not paint the backs but you can if you want.
Add button eyes.
I used adhesive caulk to glue the button eyes on. You could use googly eyes if you like. I preferred the primitive look of buttons. My bag of creatures was a dollar for eight. I drilled a 1/2" hole in the wood slice for the base not centered but towards the edge, and collected some tree branches for the mini tree.
I put the tree branch in the drilled hole. The tombstone is just a painted scrap of wood. Explore the internet for all kinds of funny tombstone names. I glued everything in place with hot glue but everything will set in place if you like to break down for storage.
I added some faux fall leaves for a punch of color. If you don't have wood slices, a block of wood will do for a base. Wood slices and tree branches were free from our yard and no trees were killed to make this project.
