Vintage Hinge & Jewelry Christmas Ornaments Tutorial

I've had this project rattling around in my brain for some time! I love the look of vintage Christmas ornaments and I wanted to make some by repurposing some old furniture hardware and costume jewelry.
These are really easy to put together, and all you need are some vintage hinges, some vintage costume jewelry, and a pair of small pliers. It’s great way to repurpose vintage costume jewelry!
There were a lot of different components on this necklace, which was nice because it gave me a variety of stuff to work with. I started breaking it down as shown above while I got an idea about what I wanted to do.
I used one of the linked beads, opened up the wire eye, and interested the wire though one of the screw holes in the hinge.
Then I attached a piece of the necklace on the other side and crimped the wire closed again. This is how I added all the necklace pieces to all the hinges.
Viola! Lots of pretty vintage Christmas ornaments to hang on your Christmas tree!
